Regis Philbin is once again returning to primetime for ABC -- although it's safe to say he won't be there four nights a week.

The energetic co-host of "Live with Regis and Kelly" and world-record holder for most TV face time has been tapped to host ABC's revival of "This Is Your Life," which is currently in development. As ever, Philbin is ready for the task.

"My network needs me! I'm there," he says. "'This Is Your Life' was always one of my favorite shows."

The network hasn't set a premiere date for "This Is Your Life," a revival of the 1950s series in which host Ralph Edwards presented the life story of that week's guest, be it an everyday joe or a movie star. Edwards' son, Gary, is among the executive producers of the new version.

"He's perfect, the only man for the job," Andrea Wong, ABC's head of alternative programming, says of Philbin. "The show is a roller coaster of emotions -- there's comedy, anticipation, tears of joy -- and no one can take an audience on that ride better than Regis."

"This Is Your Life" will run as a series of specials. Fox Television Studios will produce the show, with Mindy Moore, Fred Siegel, Jon Vein and Barbara Dunn-Leonard joining Gary Edwards as exec producers.
